A whole new Five Plants!
Hey Five Plants enjoyers and newcomers! Look at this! What on earth: a whole new Five Plants has arrived!
Fresh new look!
Farewell to the open source emoji pack - and welcome to a hundred and something new fully hand-drawn illustrations! The game's gained about a million percent more warmth and personality.
Enhanced feedback!
Gone are the days where a plant would briefly flash a minuscule icon in the bottom corner whenever something happened. Gameplay effects are now big and bold, making it way easier to see what's happening in your garden.
I've also revisited a lot of the descriptions and icons to better convey their gameplay effects.
Redesigned gameplay!
I've taken a bunch of feedback on board and streamlined a ton of mechanics. The bucket and bus ticket scoring systems have been redesigned to require less math, and I've cut the mechanic of accepting grants entirely.
The bucket also doesn't remove fruit from plants any more, meaning that even in the most obstructive situations it should always be possible to complete a grant. It costs a fair few points, though, so be careful not to overuse it!
I've also removed some plant traits, introduced some new ones, and adjusted the logic that governs how they spawn. The game now produces interesting puzzles a lot more reliably, and situations where the board gets locked down by an unlucky combination of traits, or you get a bunch of duplicates of the same trait, should be rarer (but still possible!).
